Quals: General Field of Geography

three questions on "general field." not certain if they both have to be about the same "general field" or not... vague plan =

1) something to do with economic geography, ICT infrastructure and the "network society"

2) why did "virtual geography" never quite become a focus in geography? [is this true?] i think its related to the falling out that scholars had with the term "virtual." ... -or- maybe something about cyborg urbanism and sustainability [i'd like to rethink an paper i wrote in my first year about this].

3) internet and identity?
